About Us

Our Mission and Vision:
The Backpack Project is a family-run organization that has been started to aid people who live near us and that are homeless.

At last count, there are 6,686 people who are homeless living in San Francisco, 8,478 living in the East Bay (in cities like Berkeley, Oakland, and El Cerrito), and 1,309 living in Marin.

Our goal is to create and give out 250 backpacks in 2016 and raise $10,000. This money will help us purchase the supplies found in the backpacks that can then be distributed to homeless shelters and organizations as well as people we meet on the streets.

Check out the “How to Help” page for more information about how you can help us reach our goals.
